OUR STORY
"After graduating from Ohio University with a degree in Retail Merchandising—focused on Fine Arts and Business—I found it difficult to land a job in my field that truly inspired me. That’s when I decided to carve out my own path and explore entrepreneurship.
I experimented with a variety of creative outlets, but nothing really stuck—until a friend’s fork bracelet from NYC caught my eye. Intrigued, I decided to try making one myself. That single project sparked something in me. I dove into learning jewelry-making techniques—mostly self-taught through YouTube—and soon I was creating pieces for friends and family.
"I quickly fell in love with every aspect of jewelry making—from sourcing the perfect materials to designing each piece, and finally, seeing it worn with joy by a happy customer. I was hooked. All that was left was to choose a name for my budding business. After some brainstorming, I landed on a combination of two things I adore: the color red and giraffes. And just like that, Red Giraffe Designs—RGD for short—was born."
I spent years growing a loyal following through my online platform and by participating in local community markets and craft shows—ComFest, in particular, has remained a cherished tradition for us each year.
In 2015, I was fortunate to open my first storefront and studio in the heart of the Short North Arts District. From there, things truly took off. Thanks to the incredible support and enthusiasm of our customers, we’ve expanded to multiple locations across Central Ohio while continuing to thrive online.
"I’ve always believed that the right jewelry sets the tone—so I’ve always chosen my accessories first, and the outfit second. If I didn’t have the perfect piece in my collection, I’d take things apart and craft it myself. That creative instinct is what led me to start RGD. I wanted the freedom to design pieces that made me feel confident and inspired—with the hope that others would feel the same. Thank you for supporting my passion and being part of this journey!”
